Ninjas in Pyjamas Bench Twist
The Swedish organization Ninjas in Pyjamas has decided to move Simon "twist" Eliasson out of their active CS:GO squad to make space for a member of their youth squad, Erik "ztr" Gustafsson.
26-years-old Twist started his career in 2012 and played for various European teams, most prominent of which were GODSENT and Fnatic. The player has been part of Ninjas in Pyjamas since September 2019 – the team’s biggest accomplishments during this period are their 3rd places at BLAST Pro Series: Global Final 2019 and BLAST Premier: Spring 2020 European Showdown, as well as the 4th place at DreamHack Open Fall 2020.
The organization explained the decision to bench Twist by a need of “fresh energy” in order to “release the massive potential” of the team. To this end, they are going to give a chance to prove himself to Erik "ztr" Gustafsson, an in-game leader of the recently created Young Ninjas, the organization’s talent division.
Later this week the team will compete at BLAST Premier: Spring 2020 Groups. The team has been assigned to Group A, where they will play alongside Astralis, BIG and OG. The team’s first match against Astralis is scheduled for February 4th, 3:30 PM UK time.
