Cloud9 Release Woxic
The American organization Cloud9 has announced that Özgür "woxic" Eker is no longer a member of their CS:GO roster. The sides have parted on mutual agreement, with the player’s contract being prematurely terminated. According to the statement of the team’s manager Henry "HenryG" Greer, the player was not able to perform to his full potential due to issues with “unreliable high ping and a compromising time zone”.
Woxic is a 22-years-old AWPer from Turkey, who has been competing on the highest level since 2017, when he joined HellRaisers. His most successful team was mousesports (2019 – 2020), with them he won ESL Pro League 10 Finals, CS:GO Asia Championship 2019 and GGBet Ice Challenge 2020. The player was transferred to Cloud9 last September, the deal was worth $1.365 million. Since then the team participated only in four tournaments, placing 11-12th at FLASHPOINT 2, 3rd – 4th at both BLAST Premier: Fall 2020 Showdown and Nine to Five #7, as well as finishing 5-8th at DreamHack Masters Winter 2020: Europe.
Earlier in late December Cloud9 parted ways with their CS:GO coach Aleksandar "kassad" Trifunović, who had different visions of the game with the team’s in-game leader Alex "ALEX" McMeekin. The team’s manager HenryG promised to share news on the roster future later this week.
